Invitation to take part in an important study on reproductive medicine for cancer patients

Subject: Invitation to take part in research on various controlled ovarian stimulation protocols for cancer patient oocyte/embryo cryopreservation

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in our study team on controlled ovarian stimulation protocols for oocyte/embryo cryopreservation in cancer patients.

The study aims at assessing various ovarian stimulation protocols for oocyte/embryo cryopreservation in women with malignant disease, prior to chemotherapy or radiotherapy. The primary research measure will be the number of oocytes retrieved. Data collection and analysis will enable us to understand ovarian stimulation protocol for patients with the various types of cancer and recommend the best options. Data will be presented on the IVF-Worldwide website, available to all participating centers.

The design of our observational study is prospective, multicentric, multinational and non-interventional.

The study population is patients between the ages of 18 and 44 with malignant disease, who have been referred by their oncologists to undergo controlled ovarian stimulation by r-hFSH for oocyte/embryo cryopreservation prior to cancer treatment.

The treatments and protocols eligible in the study include: all validated ovarian stimulation protocols for superovulation whose products are used according to good clinical practice (GCP).

In order to avoid extraneous study variables, patients taking only r-hFSH will be permitted in the study (e.g., Bemfola, Gonal-f, Ovaleap or Puregon). Treatment will be performed according to the standard of practice in the country where the study takes place.

Clinics will submit information using a simple online form, which includes the disease type and status and the number of oocytes and/or embryos cryopreserved.

You can find the study protocol, along with an example of an informed consent form, on the IVF-Worldwide website.

Publication and credits for this study will include each clinic participating in the research and providing data per the information described above.

To sign up for the study, please contact me.
Thank you in advance for your participation.
